Terms of service

As of October 2026. The German version is legally binding.

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to the LifeButler app and its related services (together “LifeButler”). The provider is CodeWorx UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Paul-Reusch-Str. 23, 86167 Augsburg, Germany (“we”). Conflicting terms of users do not apply.

2. What LifeButler is

LifeButler is an app that lets families, couples, friends, flatmates and clubs organise everyday life together: lists, calendar, tasks, polls, shared costs, contracts, bills, documents, family profiles, an emergency card, a family vault and more. Optional AI features help read documents, search and answer questions about your own data. The current feature set is shown in the app and on the website.

9. What is not allowed

You may not use LifeButler for unlawful content or purposes, harass or spy on others, circumvent security mechanisms, scrape or overload the service, or resell it commercially without our consent. In case of violations we may block content and suspend or terminate accounts after a warning – immediately for serious violations.

10. Availability and changes to the service

We aim for smooth operation but cannot promise uninterrupted availability (e.g. during maintenance or outages at service providers). We keep developing LifeButler and may change features where this is reasonable for you. We won't significantly reduce paid features during a running subscription.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee. For slightly negligent breaches of essential contractual obligations (obligations whose fulfilment makes proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on which you may regularly rely), liability is limited to the typical, foreseeable damage. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

12. Term and termination of the user agreement

The user agreement runs for an indefinite period. You can end it at any time by deleting your account; running subscriptions must also be cancelled in Google Play. We can terminate the free user agreement with two months' notice, and paid subscriptions at the end of the paid period. The right to terminate for good cause remains unaffected. Before we terminate, you get enough time to back up your data.

13. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms when the law or the service changes. We will tell you about changes in the app or by email at least six weeks before they take effect. If you don't object before they take effect, the new terms apply; we will point this out in the notice. If you object, either side may terminate the agreement as of the effective date.

14. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you habitually reside remain unaffected. We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If a provision is invalid, the rest remains valid.
